Many Roads - The Movie
Is based on the play by award-winning writer Stewart Permutt.
We believe ‘Many Roads’ could be a cult movie, like Mike Leigh’s ‘Abigail’s Party’.
‘Many Roads’ is the story of two gay men, ‘Martin’ a travel agent and ‘Leo’ a carer in a Jewish Old People’s Home, who meet on the internet.
‘Martin’ and ‘Leo’ connect with two women, ‘Avril’ and ‘Helen’, who are in an abusive, lesbian relationship, fuelled by the alcoholism of ‘Avril’ a retired BBC radio producer.
‘Helen’s mother ‘Stella’ is a blind, cantankerous, eighty year old.
‘Stella’s carer is ‘Sadia’ a Moslem from Somalia.
This curious mix results in a wildly funny, yet touching and revealing slice of real life.
To be shot on location in London.
Directed by ANTHONY BIGGS and starring veteran actress MIRIAM KARLIN as ‘Stella’, DANIEL HILL, AMANDA BOXER. GILLIAN HANNA, JASON WING and ELIZABETH UTER.
